I will be traveling on Hamburg Sud's ship Cap Beatrice in early September this year. Has anyone traveled on this ship. If so how was your trip?
Thanks

Hello Mann,
I haven't been on this particular ship but would comment that each voyage is different. Even in the rare event that one would have the same captain- the crew, fellow passengers if any, and that unpredictible - weather would all be different. Just go with an open mind, sense of adventure - and humor, and have a great time!

Thanks for the reply. This will be my third Freighter Trip. I was on the CSAV Hamburgo in 2006 to the West Coast of South America for 34 days. Great Trip and a great ship and crew. This was round trip from Port Everglades FL. In 2002 the Mira J from Miami FL to Aruba, Curacao, Dominican Republic, two stops in Venezuela and Port Everglades FL. US Customs made me leave the ship in Port Everglades FL. The reason, US Customs stated I was not legal because of the Jones Act.
Thanks
Regards

I am a US citizen, born in South Carolina.
The Customs Agent made a mistake. He was a smart A--. I was to travel on to Jacksonville FL from Port Everglades, then back to Miami FL. I would have not been legal at Jacksonville FL.
