speaking to shipping agents
«

I have the phone number and e-mail of an agent that I know has two ships steaming between two ports that I need to traverse. (singapore and fremantle ) I have e-mailed hamish and other travel agents but they have nothing for this route.
What is the best way I should approach the shipping agent?
( I HAVE AUSTRALIAN PASSPORT AND MARITIME SECURITY CARD )

Hi be
nno, are you having any luck with fremantle to singapore. What's the best way to contact shipping agents; should I stay local? Your thoughts welcome. Leo.

You might be able to find this segment as part of a longer route. Most agents don't want to deal with the short runs and are not creative or patient possibly. You can contact all booking agents you can find.
Also, you have nothing to lose in contacting the ship's agent -try it.

I e-mailed a lot of supposedly freighter travel experts , i.e freightertravel.com and they all said there is no way to get from Asia to Australia but I found an agency based in Switzerland, globotrek.com , they are the real deal , they organised a ship from Singapore to Fremantle within days. They are very professional and I imagine they have contacts for just about anywhere. DO not take the word of the used car salesmen passing themselves off as travel experts, keep digging.
