Hello to you all from Ireland everyone!
I've been very intrigued by going and doing this for a long time now and having found this forum I'm hoping I can use a little of your collected wisdom!
So.... First thing first, would anyone know if it's possible to get passage on a cargo ship to Venezuela? Even close to and then I could get a flight there. Leaving from anywhere in Europe really I'm flexible on that. Also, is it possible to pay for your passage in work and if not, around how much will it cost to make the journey?

Thanks! Looking forward to hearing back from you all! Smiley

Hi Sean,

No working to pay passage. It can cost around 80 plus euros per day. Try websites for Grimaldi, CMA-CGM, and NSB. All have ships from Europe to So. America.

CMA-CGM will take you close to So. America such as Martinique.

Another option is going to US East coast then changing ships for a South America run.

Good luck!

Hi
Can anyone please provide any advice on 5 adults travelling asap from New York to UK (or elsewhere in Europe) using freight transport. They have been stranded by the Icelendic volcano issue and continuing problems with air travel into northern Europe.
Please advise.
Thanks
Jonathan

Best to contact the three booking agencies in the US; Freighter World, Travltips and Maris Cruises. Then you can also try in the UK -Cruise People.

Freighter companies are not likely to do last minute bookings since lots of paperwork is required. But maybe if space is available, in view of the travel crises they may work with you. There will be many looking for the same solution.
