I'm pretty new at this but am really ready to start looking for a cargo ship headed to West Africa in the upcoming summer, but I have no idea how to get a hold of the right people to get set up with this. Also, Im wondering is it possible to do some work on the cargo ship to lessen the price?

If you are based in Europe try the Cruise People in London, and Hamburg Sud in Germany. Just googling freighter travel will bring up a lot of information. For example, Grimaldi has an African route.

No way to work for passage -those days are over. And for sure freighter travel is not cheap anymore. You pay for the unique adventure as well as transport.

Good Luck!

I tried F. Laeisz in Hamburg. Not bad, they responded immediately. But they are a bit expensive: EU 80 per day...

To select right shipping company is most valuable decision for business purpose. Most shipping company has their own website today which includes their complete information and contact details. Ask them your queries and select the one which will provide the best service to you.
