Good comment about the difference in captains. On my last trip, the first half was with a captain who clearly thought us a nuisance. No problem. We only had to see him at meals and occasionally on the bridge. The rest of the officers and crew were very friendly and we still stay in touch with some of them. The nice thing about freighter travel is that you can choose how to spend each day and where on the ship you choose to spend your time. BTW, we changed captains mid-trip and the new one was a total opposite of the first.

I tend to agree with Matz here as I have been reading all the posts with interest but there have been valid points made on both sides. I, as a new member am looking for good feedback for a voyage in the next 10 months. I will be with CMA CGM line and I believe the management of the vessels have changed and possibly senior officers but as it will be my first experience I am prepared to take it as it comes.Opinions are opinions to be observed , noted and appreciated by those of us who bow to the knowledge of experience.Shake hands!!!

Matz,
The first one using the word "stupid" was you referring to my statement - in your May 15 post.
This is not a fight or competition. I am posting only to share my personal experience and perhaps ideas in order to help any person asking questions.
Mitch, you have a good attitude and with it will have a fine adventure.
