I am in the process of booking a voyage on CMA CGM's Arno for late April.

Has anybody travelled this one before?  If so, any suggestions?

I have not committed to it (money) yet, but paperwork from Maris should be sent out early next week.

I was looking for a EC - Mediterranean route that left from a Florida port.  This is all I could find.  Does anybody know of others?

This will be my first freighter voyage.  I have 16 commercial cruises under my belt and spent many a week at sea during my Navy career.

Thanks. Tongue

There is also Lykes Line with 4 ships on run from Miami. You'd however have to back-track to 2 ports in Mexico, then Houston, New Orleans, Puerto Rico and on to Sardinia, Livorno and Genoa.  Rickmers bulk carriers go from Houston to Genoa with good port stops along the way, - a real adventure. If you have the time either would be great trips - especially in winter!

Thanks lunamara,

I was aware of the Lykes ship.  Had thought about it, but the 42 days vs 35 days on the convinced the wife, err, I mean me, that it was a bit too long.

I cannot find reference to the Rickmers bulk carriers though on any of the main freighter travel sites.  Any links?

Thanks again.    B)

Go to google then: travltips, then Around the world catagory. Scroll down to Rickmers Linie (9 ships). You can get info and book with any of the companies you wish. They all know about it.
You can ask  the agencies questions and see how they respond. It will help you decide who to book with. Some will say you can't do a partial voyage because they don't want to deal with it.
