CCNI Rotterdam

Hello to Everyone,
I'm a complete beginner to freighter travelling and also not so deep into the whole navigation.
I'm from the south of germany and the sea is far from my hometown ;-)
BUT: The dream to go on a freighter as a passenger is something which is in my mind for ages and now I have the time in 2011 to do it.
I'm thinking of a longtime passage from Hamburg to Chile via the Panama Canal and back. About 65 - 70 days. I know its a bit long for a first trip on a freighter but
I don't wanna do a short passage. Make-or-break...
Unfortunately most of the possible trips for this summer/autumn are already sold out from Hamburg/Rotterdam, only one option with the CCNI Rotterdam is possible (Starts around the End of June 2011 from Hamburg - thats what the agency said to me)
Does anyone of you heard or even been on the CCNI Rotterdam? Any information about the ship and being a passenger on in it would be appreciated.
Do you know whos the owner etc?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Angelika

Hi,
Your agent should be able to answer your questions about the CCNI ship. They should tell you nationality of officers and crew, flag, etc. For any voyage you should have a lot of information. Also ask if other passengers are booked.
Did they check MSC Monterey and MSC Carouge? Both vessels are on the route you are looking for.
Good luck!

Thanks very much Lunamara,
in the meantime I got the information that this ship belongs to MarConsult.
... I still don't know if I should do the trip... but I have to come to a decision this week
best regards
